El Jardín Mexican Restaurant is a true feast for the senses. In business since 1976, diners continue to experience its warm hospitality coupled with excellent, traditional cuisine. Its devoted business partners have remained the same for 33 years. Brothers, Ray and Joe Fedorchak, and their wives, Charlene and Penny, have successfully delivered delicious, competitively priced food with attentive service. “We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful loyal customers who feel just like family,” Penny said. “One of the best things about operating a restaurant is being able to visit with many friends, watching their little children grow up, get married, and then bringing in their children for dinner.”
For many Fallbrook residents, dining at El Jardín is like a second home. “We strive to have fresh, tasty food that will make our customers want to come back and try another entrée,” said Charlene, adding that everything is lard-free. Epicureans, in search of Mexican entrees, are delighted with El Jardín’s offerings. Their favorites, Charlene said, include their sour cream burritos, carne asada, chili verde, chile Colorado, fajitas, chimichangas, and
more. The aroma of its popular sizzling fajitas is an attention-grabber for all diners. Its addictive chips and salsa are prepared daily.
“Many of our specials became so popular that they wound up on our regular menu,” Charlene shared. “Our customers want all their favorites -- and want nothing removed from the menu.” Th e success of their fried ice cream, the
owners said, goes directly to their staff who sampled it until it reached perfection.
Many of their dedicated staff members, they say, have been part of the El Jardín team for years, five of whom have been with the restaurant for over 20 years and five others for over 10 years. “We are so proud of our wonderful staff ,” Penny said. “They have helped us stay consistent in our quality and our service.”
El Jardín prides itself on its cozy, family style atmosphere. It can accommodate larger groups, especially for those youngsters who have often requested the restaurant as their birthday party destination. “We have hosted many Red Hat Ladies luncheons; and many offices have had their staff birthday parties here,” Charlene said. “It has been a tradition for families to celebrate big events at El Jardín.”
Another great treat at El Jardín is their art gallery, featuring original artwork. And several of it’s décor items are thoughtful gifts given to them by their loyal customers. Aside from off ering tasty food-to-go, El Jardín’s enchilada party trays remain a huge hit for at home events. Its bean and rice side dishes are a delicious addition. Taking care of their customers has always been a top priority for El Jardín. And in more than three decades, this has never changed.
“El Jardín has been a wonderful business for us,” Penny said. “The interactions with the wonderful people of Fallbrook, and the region, have given our lives much for which we are thankful.”
